Yevahn has only recently been made available to the NTC for restoration because of the difficulty of determining the safety of its environment. The air of the Age is permeated by a number of dangerous gases in addition to an acidic mist, evidence of chemical pollution, so venturing outside the pod constructed over the link-in spot is extremely dangerous without a Maintainer suit. The NTC are trying their best to restore the Age's pod network, which should allow visitors to view the Age, to a safer state. Additionally, research is going into how the Age's air became so dangerous and why this apparently barren desert was linked to in the first place.
