  • The complete features list contains tips and tricks around the Offline KI and (hopefully) all the changes it offers. You should definitely read it and check back after each new version!
  • Many aspects of the game can now be controlled via KI so you should take a look at the list of KI commands and just try them out.
  • For a documentation of the technical aspects, go to the technical documentation page.
  • If you are interested in what changed for which version, see the changelog.
  • To get a list of available ages, read the UAM Age list.

Installation

Drizzle Installation (recommended)

To install the Offline KI using Drizzle (which is recommended as you will need Drizzle if you also want to reach MOUL, Myst V and Crowthistle ages and can use it to get all of the supported fan ages), you first need to download and install Drizzle. Now switch to the "UAM" tab and set the "Pots folder" to the TPOTS installation you want the Offline KI to be installed in. Now you can hit "Get latest list" (I recommend to choose "Download most recent Age list at startup" in the top right corner so that in future, you don't have to do that manually). At the very top of the list of ages, click on "Offline KI" and then click "Download", Drizzle will do the rest for you. Now just run "SoundDecompress.exe" in your Uru folder and start Uru - done!

Be also sure to also hit the "Start" button next to the POTS folder in Drizzle Simplicity, that will patch some files in your TPOTS directory to fix issues in the original files, and to complete the integration into the existing game.

If one day the green check is replaced by a yellow arrow pointing upwards, a new version of the Offline KI is available. Just like when you installed it for the first time, simply choose "Offline KI" in the list and hit "Download", Drizzle does everything automatically then.

You can install all the fan ages the same way - just choose the one you want to visit in the list and hit "Download". The Offline KI will put it into your Nexus, and some ages will also get a Relto book. Updating ages also works just like updating the Offline KI.

Drizzle also allows you to convert ages from other Cyan games like MOUL, Myst V, Crowthistle and HexIsle.

Manual Installation

Note: Using the Offline KI without Drizzle is untested and unsupported, try at your own risk!

If you don't want to use Drizzle, you can alternatively follow these instructions. Since the file is compressed with 7z (which cuts down the file size to about two third of the zip size!), you will need the free 7-zip to extract your download. Then go to the UAM web access and download the latest version of the Offline KI. Simply extract the 7z-file, copy the content to your Uru installation and double-click on "SoundDecompress.exe" - done! Please note that the KI conflicts with existing flymode patches (it contains it's own flymode) and that you have to install it after the ULM as things might act crazy otherwise (to repair an installation you broke this way, just install the Offline KI again).

To update the Offline KI to a newer version, do exactly the same and overwrite the files created by the first installation. It is not necessary to run "SoundDecompress.exe" again.

Contributors

The Offline KI contains work of many people which was integrated, completed and extended by Diafero. Use the "/info" KI command to get a (hopefully complete) list of contributors.
