This page describes how you can use Alcugs Patcher and other tools to create a client suited for Alcugs servers.

Alcugs Patcher

Alcugs Patcher is a small application which requires you to have:

• A clean TPOTS or CC installation (no hacks or patches applied - the official NoCD patch is ok though)
• A clean UU installation (just the UU patcher and maybe D'mala updates applied, but no further hacks like the UserKI)
  • To get such an installation, install ABM without TPOTS, and then apply the UU patcher for ABM (alternative mirror)
  • There also is a patcher to change TPOTS/CC into UU (alternative mirror), though I recommend to start with a simple ABM installation.

After preparing these two installations, download the Alcugs Patcher. Just run it and follow the steps as described by the wizard. Once you are done, you can apply further hacks. Some client files later on need to be edited to point to the correct Dataserver - otherwise, Uru won't let you log in to an Alcugs Shard.

I recommend installing Drizzle (version 23 or later) and using it to install the Offline-KI (version 3.0 or later) on your Alcugs Client as it fixes a lot of issues you would encounter with a bare Alcugs Patcher installation. Be sure to also hit the "Start" button next to the POTS folder in Drizzle Simplicity, that will patch some files in your TPOTS directory! Of course you can also use Drizzle to convert Cyan ages or install the other additions UAM provides. Just remember you have to copy the age and sdl files to the server: The server must have all the age and sdl files the client has (and can usually also have more), with the exact same content. You have to remember updating the files on the server if they change in the client due to an update!
